St. Patricks Day Parade 2013 - Wicklow Town

Despite the somewhat inclement weather conditions, we had a great turn-out for the clubs first entry in the Wicklow St. Patrick's Day parade. Given the multiple conflicting priorities many of the children had from other clubs and groups our numbers were all the more impressive.

Decked out in their club gear along with the clubs banner, flags, whistles and some balloons, topped off with some creative face painting, the crew were raring to go.

We had a place towards the front of the parade which was great as it was our first year. We set off fairly promptly at 3:15, led by Derek and Anthony. We marched through the town greeting what looked like a great turn-out of spectators and of course some familiar faces. Once we reached the reviewing stand it was time for a quick jog\shuffle (of sorts) forward and then we marched on to the finish at the Gaol.

Our numbers had swelled a bit at that point and despite being damp and cold there was ice-cream all round to cap the day off.

A big thanks to everyone who came along (both participants and spectators), adults, children, coaches, committee members and friends, it's hard to believe the club is not even a year old yet.
